Workpost 57: Moving Forwards

My goal today is to find balance, however that looks like…feeling like I can spend time meeting all my needs and progressing at the speed that I want to progress at.

For my AI Consulting, I want to spend some time this morning thinking through it a little more and following some of the steps I took in my project.

For my consulting project, here are the things I want to get done:

  1. Draft up all the major pages in the website
  2. Create a signup experience
  3. Create a plan for all lead magnet ideas

Major pages:

Workpost 78: Tired

Today I’m tired and might be mildly sick. But I’m going to make the most out of it.

Today I would love to create a new landing page concept. It could level up our business by a lot.

For fun, I would like to play Valorant again. It was super fun last night.

I would also like to do some drawing while relaxing outside. That would be really nice.

Finally, I want to do some jiujitsu and maybe take a nap.

It would be nice to make some good money today as well.

Matches: Back to the Grind

Match 1

Goals:

  1. To be fast and effective and efficient. What percentile do I fall in terms of the human potential for efficiency?
  2. To be able to see through problems in a genius like way. What percentile do I fall into for my perception?

Warmup ideas:

  1. Emotional processing on stress (5 min)
  2. Workout (5 min)
  3. Meditation (5 min)

Postwork Review:

  1. I was very calm and measured during this work. I also did not take breaks.
  2. Emotional processing, exercise and meditation are quite effective.

Grading:

Efficiency: 65% I think most people would be able to do what I was able to do but I suppose there were more steps than I thought and I was quite efficient at them.

Perception: 70% The task didn’t require insane perception until the very end where I did solve a problem really fast by realizing the problem.

Workpost 85: Health Challenge

I’ve decided to start on my health challenge today. What does that mean?

  1. An emphasis on taking care of my mental and physical health above all
  2. Creating boundaries and emotionally processing any pushback around not making my health a priority
  3. Certain goals:
    • Jiujitsu for 2+ hours every day
    • Boxing on the days I can go
    • Cooking all of my meals
    • Bedtime at midnight
    • Reduced or elimination of all processed sugars
  4. Work comes after health, and is designed to be rejuvenating instead of draining

This health challenge will run from today until the 15th – the day when I travel home. Then I will work on adjusting and finding a new routine.

Today, I want to ponder two things:

  1. What do I want to post as a video explaining what I’m doing with my youtube challenge?
  2. How will I support myself healthwise while working to make it rejuvenating?

Youtube Video

  1. “It’s over. I failed”
  2. “Welcome back to the 21 day youtuber challenge, my name is Jack you are watching episode 17.”
  3. “In this challenge, I was supposed to post a video every day for 21 days, and it’s safe to say I failed.”
  4. “I haven’t posted for multiple days in a row, the last episode actually shot multiple days before I released it because it took so long to edit”
  5. “The reason is simple, it took 6 to 8 hours to create every video from the ideation, to the shooting, to the editing and that just isn’t sustainable”
  6. “If I think of the ideal pyramid of life, it looks something like this” (Health, work, youtube)
  7. “But recently it’s felt upside down”
  8. “So what’s next? I still want to do the challenge – posting the rest of the 21 videos exploring what I like to make videos about. After all, I have so many more ideas to try out”
  9. “But I’m not going to release them every day anymore”
  10. “Here are 10 things I can focus on now that I’m not releasing videos at such a frantic pace”
  11. “But in those little moments when I have time, I will keep making videos for this series, and hopefully it’ll be magical”

Working Plan

  1. Focus on only one thing at a time
  2. Process emotions around rushing or being in a hurry
  3. Create an appropriately prioritized to do list
  4. Take a lot of notes when taking a break so I can pick off where I left off
  5. Timed meditation and off screen time for stronger focus

Reflections:

  1. Ended up spending all the warmup time at the gym
  2. Feel amazing but felt the mental work was less exceptional
  3. Felt much more healthy and sustainable
  4. Found that walking every 5 minutes or deep breathing was extremely nourishing and helpful

Result Calculation:

  1. How much do I think this work is worth? I feel this work was worth less maybe $100-$175. The task for getting the test data was time consuming but straightforward. The coding required much more thinking, but I didn’t get extremely far with it.
  2. How difficult intellectually was this work from 1-10? Maybe a 5. Someone less intelligent could achieve this, but they would of course, need to put in a lot of effort.
  3. What percentile do I place this work in terms of innovation? 35% percentile. Pretty interesting ideas about character count. Pretty clever overall.
  4. Gains in communication and charisma? Not many gains, but will help me a lot with future work that will be very helpful in telling the story (looking at data).

AI Consulting Days 34-35/63

I need to do some brainstorming about my new niche.

I do think that banking is not a niche I want to start in because it is harder to take someone who is making a lot of money and make them purposeful than it is to take someone who is purposeful and help them make money. At least for me. At least while I don’t have a proven track record yet.

If I focus on the non-profit arena, the goal is to understand current what the state is with non-profits. I don’t know how to answer that question except by talking to people working there.

I may have some people who can help in that arena but I don’t know if reaching out to them will take some time, and even if they do, what is the answer? I just don’t know if they can speak to the whole industry.

Here are my thoughts:

  1. Use AI to brainstorm
  2. Look for people in my network to talk to

Ideas from AI:

  1. Look at these studies
  2. Look at nonprofit conferences
    • Review recent non-profit technology conference agendas for AI-related sessions
    • Look at speaker profiles and presentation topics
  3. Look for grantmaking foundations focusing on AI for social good. This indicates a growing interest in AI within the nonprofit sector.
  4. Social Media Listening: Use AI-powered social listening tools to analyze conversations around AI in the nonprofit sector.

I am also thinking about the 10k for for-profit companies and wondering if non-profits have something similar in the forms they must make publicly available in the 990 and 1023.
